View-Invariant Recognition of Action Style Self-Dissimilarity

چکیده
Self-similarity was recently introduced as a measure of inter-class congruence for classification of actions. Herein, we investigate the dual problem of intra-class dissimilarity for classification of action styles. We introduce self-dissimilarity matrices that discriminate between same actions performed by different subjects regardless of viewing direction and camera parameters. We investigate two frameworks using these invariant style dissimilarity measures based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Fisher Discriminant Analysis (FDA). Extensive experiments performed on IXMAS dataset indicate remarkably good discriminant characteristics for the proposed invariant measures for gender recognition from video data. View and Style-Independent Action Manifolds for Human Activity Recognition
We introduce a novel approach to automatically learn intuitive and compact descriptors of human body motions for activity recognition. Each action descriptor is produced, first, by applying Temporal Laplacian Eigenmaps to view-dependent videos in order to produce a stylistic invariant embedded manifold for each view separately. Then, all view-dependent manifolds are automatically combined to di...
متن کاملTowards Scalable View-Invariant Gait Recognition: Multilinear Analysis for Gait
In this paper we introduce a novel approach for learning view-invariant gait representation that does not require synthesizing particular views or any camera calibration. Given walking sequences captured from multiple views for multiple people, we fit a multilinear generative model using higher-order singular value decomposition which decomposes view factors, body configuration factors, and gai...
متن کاملA comprehensive experimental comparison of the aggregation techniques for face recognition
In face recognition, one of the most important problems to tackle is a large amount of data and the redundancy of information contained in facial images. There are numerous approaches attempting to reduce this redundancy. One of them is information aggregation based on the results of classifiers built on selected facial areas being the most salient regions from the point of view of classificati...
متن کاملCross-View Action Recognition from Temporal Self-similarities
This paper concerns recognition of human actions under view changes. We explore self-similarities of action sequences over time and observe the striking stability of such measures across views. Building upon this key observation we develop an action descriptor that captures the structure of temporal similarities and dissimilarities within an action sequence. Despite this descriptor not being st...
متن کاملView-invariant action recognition based on Artificial Neural Networks
In this paper, a novel view invariant action recognition method based on neural network representation and recognition is proposed. The project has employed the technique mentioned and excellent results were obtained for a number of widely used font types. The technical approach followed in processing input images, detecting graphic symbols, analyzing and mapping the symbols and training the ne...
